The proper development and updating of construction schedules during the Project lifecycle is a key process that can not only guide the successful outcome of a project, but one that can also set the CM or Contractor up for effective dispute resolution. Please join CMAA Ohio Chapter and FTI Consulting to discuss building better baseline schedules, best practices for schedule updates, and making the schedule function as a reliable tool for shareholders.

Presenters:
 

Michael Birmingham is a Senior Managing Director with FTI Consulting and has more than 20 years of experience consulting on complex construction projects. He has directed and conducted the analysis of schedule delay and disruption and termination claims on hundreds of projects spanning various industry sectors and countries. Mr. Birmingham is frequently engaged during the course of construction to help contractors and owners with the management of schedule and cost risk. He has testified in the U.S. and Canada to schedule delays, disruptions, and construction damages at trial and in various arbitration forums, including AAA and ICC Arbitrations.

Donald Kaplan is a Senior Director with FTI Consulting and has more than 17 years of experience providing construction claims consulting and critical path method (“CPM “)scheduling services. His expertise encompasses the development and substantiation of schedule delay claims, as well as the quantification of construction-related damages, including the analysis of loss of productivity. He is skilled in the development and maintenance of CPM schedules, and regularly consults on projects during the course of construction, assisting in the identification, assessment and management of schedule and cost risk.

Any person who has been subjected to prohibited conduct or who has witnessed such conduct is encouraged to notify a CMAA staff member. CMAA reserves the right to take any action it deems appropriate in response to such conduct by any person, including removal of that person from the event, prohibiting attendance at future events, and suspension of membership.
